RSS/iCal Enhancements Take Podium Calendar to the Next Level

September 27, 2010 Maura Webster

Another popular and much-anticipated UserVoice idea, the addition of RSS feeds for Group Pages and iCal feeds for Group- and school- calendars, will undoubtedly change the way users interact with the Podium Calendar and consume the information contained within them.

Scheduled for release on Wednesday, September 29th, the new Group RSS and iCal feeds may be turned on by any Group Manager (Athletics, Academics, Alumni, Community, etc.)…

…and consumed by users from the My Groups Portal Channel, My Groups Master Page or from an individual Group page:

Similarly, iCal feeds for Podium Calendars may be turned on by a Platform Manager and consumed by users directly from the Calendar Master Page, allowing parents, faculty, staff and students to fully integrate their personal calendars with their unique academic schedule, homework assignments, upcoming athletic team events and school wide events, staying up-to-date on any event changes or cancellations without having to log in for updates.

For more information and live demonstration of this new functionality, register for the RSS & iCal Improvements training session on Thursday, September 30th at 2pm ET.
