Idea to Feature: Finding the Right Person with Find Me Now

May 2, 2013 Peter Baron

Back in December, we shared how “Find Me Now” re-emerged after 30 of you voted to bring it back in UserVoice.

As we mentioned at the time, onRecord managers could simply log in and type the name of a student or faculty member into the Find Me Now feature to locate that person.

But there was another piece to that UserVoice submission that didn’t find its way into the initial release — you wanted us to expand the feature beyond just managers to include teachers as well. Our Early Adopter Schools also echoed this sentiment.

With our latest release, we were able to check that last box off of our list. Now, teachers and students also have access to Find Me Now directly from My Day.

Mark Sargent, Product Owner for onRecord, shares how it all works in this week’s Idea to Feature.

Expanding Find Me Now

Take this example: a student who needs to find a teacher to set up a meeting. The student can use Find Me Now to see if they’re in class or in between obligations.

Plus, we expanded the reach for teachers. Not only can they can look up teachers to set up meetings, etc., but their privileges also include the ability to search for students.

Find Me Now is a terrific example of a feature that continues to grow and improve because of your input — thank you!
