Coding is well underway and Interactive Assignment Rubrics are slated to be released to all Blackbaud Learning Management System™ (formerly onCampus®) full edition schools in time for the 2017/2018 school year!
This initiative provides Teachers, who wish to incorporate this valuable evaluation tool into their teaching practice, with the ability to:
- Create and save templates, with customized skills and proficiency levels, with a native Rubric builder
- Collaborate by copying templates created by colleagues from a Rubric Bank
- Associate Rubrics directly with Blackbaud Learning Management System Assignments providing Students and Parents with clear learning expectations.
- Provide meaningful feedback on performance and outcomes using the interactive Rubric. Assignment grades flow directly from the Rubric to the native Blackbaud Learning Management System Grade Book.
Our feature set and workflow for Rubrics is the direct result of hours and hours of feedback sessions with ed tech integrators and teachers. The Blackbaud Learning Management System triad, made up of a product manager, UX Designer and Programmer conducted site visits as well as phone calls as part of the Discovery process to set the direction of this project.
One consistent theme that we heard from all the schools that we spoke to is that many schools want to promote the use of rubrics, however, found it challenging to get a consistent application of rubrics across departments.
As a result, we feel confident that this initiative will make adding Rubrics a natural part of the Blackbaud Learning Management System experience. Because the tool is seamlessly tied into the Assignments and Grade Book workflow Teachers can focus less effort on figuring out how to build a rubric and more effort on developing meaningful scales and feedback.
