On Monday, December 10, Blackbaud K–12 is officially transitioning its K-12 solutions to The Cloud Solution for K–12 Schools, which will include changing the names of our education management (formerly known as the “ON” products), tuition, and financial aid solutions.
“The motivation behind the renaming is simple,” said Travis Warren, SVP, president, Blackbaud’s K–12 Group. “We want to make it easier for schools to understand what we do. This new naming system will do just that.”
The new product naming is as follows:
- Blackbaud Enrollment Management SystemTM (formerly onBoard®)
- Blackbaud Learning Management SystemTM (formerly onCampus®)
- Blackbaud Student Information SystemTM (formerly onRecord®)
- Blackbaud School Website SystemTM (formerly onMessage®)
- Blackbaud Tuition ManagementTM (formerly Blackbaud Smart TuitionTM)
- Blackbaud Financial Aid ManagementTM (formerly Blackbaud Smart AidTM)
There is no action for schools currently running any of these solutions to take. While the names are changing, the products themselves remain the same and schools will continue to benefit from our continuous innovation model. At this time, we also aren't changing the tuition branding for parents—they will continue to see Smart Tuition in all communications.
The naming transition is occurring on December 10 to coincide with the release of a new customer support portal. Schools contacting Support after this update will receive a new phone and chat menu with the updated product naming, and all K–12 calls will now go through the main Blackbaud Support line at 1-800-468-8996 to avoid confusion.
“Moreover,” Warren said, “The Cloud Solution for K–12 Schools represents the evolution of our products. In the last year, updates such as the reworked admin navigation and Blackbaud ID have better connected our solutions—and schools.
“This is only the beginning. These updates have laid the groundwork for the developments we’ll be announcing this year and beyond to connect school communities in new and exciting ways.”
