You’ve got your schedule sets and you think you are all set then BAM the first day of school arrives and the schedule is starting on the wrong day! Ugh!
This month take a look at the following items for all of your schedule sets to ensure you are ready for the first day of school.
Begin Date/End Date
Check what you have listed as the Begin Date/End Date for all of your schedule sets (onRecord > Settings > Schedule Sets > General Tab). For example the first day of school is on 9/3/2015, this is the date that should be listed as the Begin Date. While you are here also check if the End Date is correct as well.
Check to make sure that all the Roles that need access to see the schedule have an Access Date. (onRecord > Settings > Schedule Sets > General Tab). The Access Date controls when users will see their schedule through their My Day screen. For example if the role of Teacher has an Access Date such as 9/3/2015 then the Teacher will see their schedule starting on 9/3/2015 through the My Day > Schedule & Performance screen.
Max Days/Max Weeks/Start Day/Start Week
Check to make sure the correct Max Days/Max Weeks/Start Day/Start Week are all correct. (onRecord > Settings > Schedule Sets > General Tab).
Max Days represents how many rotation days you have for your school’s schedule. For example if your school has a one-week 5-day rotation then the Max Days would be a 5.
Max Weeks refers to how many schedule rotation weeks a school has. If your school has a 2-week 5-day rotation then Max Weeks would be a 2.
Start Day refers to the first rotation schedule day that the first day of school will fall on. The first day of school may not fall on Day 1 of a schedule set. This year 9/3/2015 falls on a Thursday. If we have a 5-day schedule set then a Thursday could potentially be a Day 4. If you want 9/3/2015 to start on Day 4 then you want the Start Day to equal 4.
Start Week refers to the week in the rotation that the first day of school should fall on. If the school only has a one-week rotation then the Start Week should equal 1. However if the school has a two-week rotation then the Start Week could potentially start in the second week. If this is the case then the Start Week should equal 2.
While you are reviewing schedules this would be a good time to go in and cancel classes for Holidays and School Vacations. Currently it is not recommended to cancel classes or change rotation days on the day of class. See this article to learn more about canceling classes.

It is also possible that the school may have Special Days such as a half-days. If a school is using a block schedule set it is possible to create a Special Days template through onRecord > Procedures > Schedule > Special Days. Learn more about creating and using Special Days template.
