Jaime Lassman, Director of Studies at The Lexington School, was looking for a top notch learning management system to integrate with their existing database and transform their school online interactions. He chose Blackbaud’s onCampus.
I recently caught up with Jaime at bbcon ‘15, Blackbaud’s annual conference for nonprofits. He was giving a presentation to school administrators on implementing onCampus. I thought his topic was great, so I pulled him aside to make sure I captured his top 5 tips for those who were unable to attend!

Jaime also offers steps to help you focus not just on what you need to make the software work, but on what parents, students, and teachers need to make the shift to the new learning tools. His comments on reaching out to the school community and keeping them up to date are very insightful.
While Jaime and I we were discussing all of the various ins and outs of his implementation, he hit upon something that really resonated with me. How The Lexington School’s mission is to provide the highest quality education and that interacting online played a very important part of him choosing onCampus. Seeing the comprehensive work teachers are doing building out their topics pages for students with video and downloadable files is an excellent example.
