The Buckley School in Sherman Oaks, California, has grown and adapted to meet evolving education needs, including new technology and experiential learning. The school was looking for a learning management system with features that could enhance the student experience, share a single database, and take learning beyond the classroom. Sarah Stehman, director of educational technology at Buckley School, understood the value of having the whole school connected, which led her to choose Blackbaud's onCampus product. When I came to Buckley and saw that the school was using FA Web, I knew immediately this was something I wanted to change. When I started talking with faculty members, it was very clear they wanted something new too. We whittled it down between Finalsite and Blackbaud. We chose Blackbaud's onCampus." —Sarah Stehman, Director of Educational Technology, The Buckley School WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO HAVE A SINGLE-SYSTEM ENVIRONMENT? "Being connected gives the positive experience people expect. Now, as soon as students are enrolled at Buckley School, they have access to the features of onCampus and so do their parents. Then when those students graduate, we have them linked up to Raiser's Edge TM , so all their alumni information is up to date, accurate, and easily accessible. It's all synced together. It's a shared database. Having Blackbaud products means everything is linked for us. Having a single-system environment gives us the integration we need. We liked how nicely it integrated with Education Edge TM and Raiser's Edge. That was a big win for us." DID THE FEATURES OF ONCAMPUS HELP IN THE SELECTION PROCESS? "Buckley School was using FA Web as a learning management system (LMS), and it was very limited. We wanted to move forward with an LMS that could meet our needs as a school. We started looking at different companies. We compared various learning systems from several companies, listing out the different features and looking at what would suit our needs. When it finally came down to the head-to-head comparison of product features, Blackbaud's onCampus had more of the functionality we wanted overall. The ease in which teachers and students can interact with onCampus was a deciding factor too. The ease of use is right there from the start. And we liked how onCampus integrated with the main database."
