51% In Newly Acquired Donors 17% Increase in Average Donor Gift Contribution 161% Increase in Gifts Over $1,000 233% Growth in Total Donor Contributions CHALLENGE Lake Catholic High School needed to find a means to increase the performance of their annual gift program as well as to uncover additional major gift prospects for personal appeal messaging. Faced with limited resources to perform prospect research, the school needed a solution that would uncover each supporter's capacity and propensity to make a contribution, and to identify a target gift range to incorporate into their current direct mail communications. SOLUTION Target Analytics suggested prospect modeling to handle the needs for this school; utilizing Annual Gift Likelihood, Major Gift Likelihood, and Target Gift Range to provide deeper insights into their current donors ability to make a larger gift contribution, and to identify their new prospects affinity and propensity to give. The Annual Gift and Major Gift Likelihood solutions assist in qualifying their database of constituents into segmented gift programs to identify which individuals are likely annual donors and those that are potential major gift contributors. To escalate their current donor gift levels, the Target Gift Range reviews each individual record to provide the best next-ask amount suggestion. RESULTS After applying the prospect modeling results into their communication strategy, Lake Catholic experienced incremental gains in new donor acquisition, average gift size, major gift level contributions, and overall donor contributions. Not only were they able to advance their annual gift program to never before seen levels, the school was able to hire additional staff for prospect research to continue evolving their fundraising efforts. Since incorporating prospect modeling in 2010, the school has experienced a 51% growth in new donor acquisitions, and their overall revenue from contributions has increased by 233%. With the average gift size also up 17%, Lake Catholic is now finding success in large contributions of $1,000 and up; over 160% increase.
