Huge thank you to our Blackbaud K-12 Community! Your ideas and votes are helping us make some major improvements to the onCampus Gradebook this summer!
The improvements include:
- Exposing Assignment Grade Status indicators (Missing, Exempt, Incomplete) in the initial view. No more mystery triangle!
Supporting shortcuts (M = Missing, I = Incomplete, etc) so teachers don’t have to double click into the detail to add that status.
Exposing Overall Class Average as well as Class Average on Assignments.
Improving the mobile experience.
Improving workflows for bulk adding points and comments.
Here’s a sneak peek at the prototype:
Also, don’t forget we’re adding Interactive Assignment Rubrics to onCampus this summer as well. We’ll be making those rubrics accessible from the onCampus Gradebook to facilitate evaluating student work.
We validated our ideas with over 350 teachers who participated in our Gradebook feedback survey. Based on their responses we anticipate this release being quite impactful with over 87% finding the status icons helpful and excitement around our other enhancements. But don’t take our word for it! Here’s a sampling of the comments we got from the survey:
Beautiful! I love that you can see what cells have comments, missings, etc. That quick glance feature would really help me identify which students are struggling. The color coded tabs are also really helpful. Please release this soon!
That is very useful and user-friendly. I especially like the bulk functions.
Grading with a rubric is going to be AWESOME and will generate a lot of excitement. So will the bulk comments. Thanks for all your thoughtful work on this and using all of our feedback!
With this Gradebook Improvement release we are closing out almost 300 votes from our Blackbaud K-12 Community! We’re anticipating a June 28th release so that we’re well ahead of the 2017/2018 school year.
